Areas of Treatment are identified and individualized on a case by case basis.  A strengths-based "problem-solution" focused treatment modality is used across a variety of populations- children, adolescents, adults, and families.  Treatment goals and action steps are identified in order to address each client's needs.  Below are some examples:


Children:

School-related anxiety; school phobia; social and general anxiety; bullying issues; social disabilities (including autism spectrum disorders); development of social skills, communication skills, and self-advocacy skills; adjustment to new school or environment; adjustment because divorce or death; grief & bereavement; development of executive functioning skills; anger management; development of coping skills for sadness/depression.


Adolescents: 

Anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorders; separation-individuation, adjustment to middle school, high school, college, after-college; bullying issues; managing risky behaviors; social disabilities (including autism spectrum disorders); development of social skills, communication skills, and self-advocacy skills; peer pressure; adjustment because of divorce or death; grief & bereavement; development of executive functioning skills; anger management; depression symptom management.


Adults:

Anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorders, personality disorders; parenting issues; parenting children through difficult transitions; parenting adolescents; parenting children with special needs; life-cycle transitions:  divorce, “empty nest”, loss of spouse, caring for elderly parents, return-to-work; retirement, illness; finding “balance” in life; healthy living, development of self-esteem and self-confidence; career issues; anger management; relationship problems.


Families:

Relationship problems within the family system; families in crisis; families in transition (divorce, financial setback, move, loss of family member); grieving families after the death of a loved one; development of healthy communication skills and social skills between family members.
